Forensics Research Project - Wanted Poster

 

1. Pick a person from the list provided of famous forensic cases.

 

2. Make a “wanted poster” (like the old time West) of the culprit.

 

3. Research the case and find the following information for a 1 minute oral     report:

 

a)     His/Her name and any “nickname(s)”;  general description of the crime.

 

b)    Physical description of the individual.      

 

c)     How did the individual get “caught” or was the case ever solved?  Why or why not?   

 

d)    What was this individual’s modus operandi?  Commonalities among the different cases if more than one?

 

e)     Where did the case(s) take place?  Were there any commonalities among the location(s)?

 

f)      How many people were killed or involved in the case?  In what time frame?

 

g)     What did the investigator(s) do to help solve the case?

 

h)     Are there any unresolved issues regarding this case?  What was the end result(s) of the case(s)?  Was justice served?

 

Grading will be based on the following:

 

_____                   Information (24 Points = 3 points each question)

 

_____                   Presentation (10 Points = 2 points each:  eye contact, voice volume,                        time more than 1 minute, use of poster, accuracy)

 

_____                   Wanted Picture (16 points = 4 points each:  picture of person, looks                        like wanted poster, include a cool saying about your murderer,                                creativity)
